Turtle Beach Launches Switch Headsets Ready for Fortnite

Turtle Beach Unveils New Gaming Headsets for Fortnite on Nintendo Switch

Turtle Beach has released a brand new lineup of gaming headsets designed specifically for the Nintendo Switch, optimized to work seamlessly with the popular game Fortnite.

Unlike other Nintendo titles, Fortnite on Switch has in-game voice chat functionality, eliminating the need for gamers to use the Nintendo Online Mobile app on their smartphones. This is a welcome feature, as the app is required for voice chat on Nintendo’s own properties like Splatoon 2.

Turtle Beach CEO Juergen Stark praised Epic Games for implementing their own in-game chat system in Fortnite on the Switch. He believes this move sets a precedent for future online multiplayer titles on the console to follow suit, which is great news for gamers.

Turtle Beach has confirmed that 25 headsets from its current product lineup, including wired and wireless options, are fully compatible with the Switch version of Fortnite.

Additionally, Turtle Beach announced two new headsets, the Recon 200 and Stealth 300, at this year’s E3, which are also compatible with Fortnite on the Nintendo Switch.

Fortnite for the Switch was announced during Nintendo’s E3 press conference on June 12, but not without controversy. Switch owners with a PS4-linked Epic Games account were required to create a new account in order to play on the system, due to Sony’s cross-play stance. As a result, Fortnite players lost their progress and purchased items from other platforms.
