Tfue, Chap, NICKMERCS, and more secure finals spot at Day 3 of PAX West Fortnite Summer Skirmish.

Fortnite Grand Finals Qualifiers: Tfue, Chap, and NICKMERCS Secure Spots

Some of the biggest names in Fortnite have secured spots in the grand final event after the last day of qualification. Turner “Tfue” Tenney, Ryan “Chap” Chaplo, and Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff each secured spots in the grand finals by placing in the top 33 in Sunday’s nightly qualifier. These players, along with the other 96 grand finals opponents, have already earned $5,000 for making it to Monday’s competition.

Largest Prize Pool in Summer Skirmish Series

All the players who made it to the final stage of the event are guaranteed $5,000. However, on Monday, Sept. 3, they will be competing for the lion’s share of the $1.5 million prize pool, which is the largest prize pool in the eight-week Summer Skirmish series.

How Qualifiers Worked

Players earned their spot in the grand finals by participating in daily qualifiers, which then placed them into the nightly competitions. In each game, players earned points based on their placings and eliminations. Players received three points for seven-kill games or Victory Royales, while they could earn two or one point depending on their leaderboard placement or number of eliminations.

Tylarzz Takes the Lead

Tylarzz emerged as the leader in both the leaderboard and eliminations count, finishing with 11 eliminations and eight total points. FaZe Clan player Jason “Tennp0” Wang finished in second place, with Tfue not far behind.

Although the final field has been decided, there is still uncertainty about who will become the Skirmish champion. Many professional players are in the running, along with several free agents who have a shot at claiming victory.

The grand finals, a six-game series featuring the top 99 players, will begin at 1pm CT and can be streamed on Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Mixer.
