Smoke emerges from Fortnite’s erupting volcano

The Volcano in Fortnite: Battle Royale Begins Smoking, Indicating Possible Eruption

The volcano located northeast of the Fortnite: Battle Royale island has been spotted smoking by players. This event occurred shortly after the first rune made its way to Loot Lake and connected with the metal hatch.

Typically, smoke emitting from a volcano is a sign of potential eruption, and this is the second indication that the Fortnite volcano may be active.

As of now, there have been no significant changes on the island. Not only has the volcano not erupted and released lava, but the rune that appears loosely connected to its smoke has not affected Loot Lake or any other area it has passed through while floating.

Further information regarding this recent volcanic activity may be revealed when a new rune connects to the Loot Lake hatch in the coming days. There are five slots on the hatch, so it is possible that four more runes will travel to Loot Lake and attach themselves to the metallic structure. If there is a cause and effect relationship between the runes and the volcano, players may witness new developments in the volcanic activity, such as earthquakes or the emergence of lava, once a second rune reaches Loot Lake.

The excavation sites that have appeared were the first indications that the volcano was not dormant. The initial site near Paradise Palms revealed a volcano vent, while another site in Dusty Divot became filled with lava after being completely excavated. These occurrences suggest that the pressure inside the volcano may be increasing, potentially leading to an eruption in the near future.

Players should anticipate updates on the volcano within the next few days, as it is highly likely related to the conclusion of season eight and the beginning of season nine.
