Shadow Stones in Fortnite: Battle Royale have been disabled by Epic Games

Epic Games Disables Shadow Stones in Fortnite Due to Issues

Just 12 hours after the release of the 6.0 update, Shadow Stones have been disabled in Fortnite: Battle Royale due to an unspecified issue. Epic Games made the announcement on the official Fortnite Twitter account, stating that the items will remain disabled until a solution is found. This comes as a disappointment to players, as the Shadow Stones were only available for a short period of time after being introduced in the new season.

Concerns Raised About the Power of Shadow Stones

The specific issue with Shadow Stones has not been revealed, but some players had already voiced their concerns about the item’s power. While in Shadow Form, players could turn invisible, gain increased movement speed and jump height, and become immune to fall damage. However, the speed and unique character outline of the Shadow Form made it difficult for opponents to eliminate them.

Disabling Items is Not Uncommon for Epic Games

Disabling newly introduced items is not uncommon for Epic Games. In the past, Shopping Carts and Rifts were temporarily disabled due to various issues. This allows Epic Games to ensure the overall balance and fairness of the game before re-enabling the items.

We will provide updates on this issue as more information becomes available.

Update: Shadow Stones have been re-enabled as of September 28, 10:45am CT, according to Epic Games’ Twitter account.
