Sentinels’ Animal Dominates Day 2 of PAX West Fortnite Summer Skirmish

The Exciting Second Day of PAX West Fortnite Summer Skirmish

Day Two of the PAX West Fortnite Summer Skirmish has come to an end, and it was filled with incredible performances.

Owen “Animal” Wright from Sentinels took the top spot on the leaderboard for the day after Thomas “72hrs” Mulligan from Team Liquid dominated the first day’s qualifiers. Ghost’s Aydan and David “LeNain” Bois also finished strong, rounding out the top three with seven points each over four games.

Players earned points based on their placings and eliminations. They received three points for seven-kill games or Victory Royales. Additionally, they could earn two or one point based on their leaderboard placement or number of eliminations.

Aydan showcased his aggressive and fluid playstyle by eliminating 18 players, with 14 of those eliminations coming in the first two games. Animal, LeNain, and BoyerXD closely followed Aydan with 13 eliminations each.

While Animal, Aydan, and LeNain were the top three qualifiers on the second day, they are among the 33 players who have secured their spots in the grand finals after Saturday’s competition. Several notable players, including Jake “Poach” Brumleve, Nick “Marksman” Overton, and Myles “Gorilla” Cayenne, also earned their spots in the main event on Monday, Sept. 3.

Two-thirds of the grand finals participants have been determined, but the final competitors will be decided in Sunday’s qualifying matches. Similar to Friday and Saturday, players who perform well in the preliminary heats on Sunday afternoon will secure a place in the nightly qualifier. From there, they will need to place in the top third to advance to the grand finals.
