Return of the Guided Missile to Fortnite: Battle Royale

A Controversial Weapon Returns to Fortnite: Battle Royale

The Guided Missile, one of the most talked-about weapons in Fortnite: Battle Royale, is making a comeback to the game, despite the mixed reactions from players.

In their recent developer update, Epic Games announced the return of the Guided Missile to Fortnite. While the update also mentioned changes to SMGs and Remote Explosives, players are most interested in the infamous launcher’s comeback.

The Guided Missile was initially introduced to Fortnite in March, but it faced heavy criticism for being overpowered. With the ability to launch endless missiles, players could scout ahead and cause massive damage to opponents and their structures.

The weapon was eventually removed from the game in April. However, dataminers later discovered that it would return at some point in June.

During the developer update, Andrew Bains discussed the changes implemented for the Guided Missile.

“We’ve made several changes to the Guided Missile to position it more as a scouting tool rather than a high-damage threat,” Bains explained. “This includes reducing its movement speed, turning radius, damage, and damage radius. Additionally, we’ve restricted the ammo cap to just 12 rockets in our default modes.”

It appears that the Guided Missile won’t be as powerful as it was before, but players will have to wait for its official return to know for sure.

Epic Games did not provide a specific release date for the Guided Missile’s comeback, so players should keep an eye on the in-game New Updates tab for more information in the near future.
