A popular data miner, Lucas7yoshi, recently posted a picture of the updated Fortnite map after the v7.40 update. The image reveals a significant change to Wailing Woods, as it appears to be completely burnt down.
Many Fortnite fans have speculated that a volcano or lava could be responsible for upcoming map changes leading to season eight. It’s also possible that Epic Games will use this opportunity to further develop the lore surrounding The Prisoner skin, potentially involving his rage leading him to set the area on fire.
Interestingly, the trees in Wailing Woods still appear to be standing but are discolored, making it difficult to determine the exact cause of this potential map change if it indeed happens.
