Fortnite: Battle Royale is set to receive a new update this week. Developer Epic Games usually releases weekly patches with additions, tweaks, and bug fixes for Fortnite. Typically, these updates are released on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
This week, it is expected that the v8.10 update will be released on Tuesday, following Epic’s usual schedule. In season seven, the v7.10 update came after the v7.01 version, so we might see a similar pattern in season eight.
Epic typically reveals the patch notes for the update as soon as the servers go down for maintenance. However, players can already speculate about what to expect in the v8.10 update based on previous reveals and hints from Epic throughout the week.
Here’s what we can anticipate in the upcoming v8.10 update.
The Baller
Fortnite’s latest vehicle, The Baller, is expected to be released with the v8.10 update this week. Epic unveiled the vehicle recently, stating that players will “roll through the competition” with it.
The Baller features a Grappler in the front, which players can likely use to move faster across the map. It seems that The Baller can only accommodate one player and does not have any attached weapons or a way for players to shoot while inside.
Epic and Legendary Infantry Rifles
Leaks from last week suggested that high-rarity variants of the Infantry Rifle might be coming to Fortnite soon. Initially, there were expectations for them to be included in the v8.01 update, but that turned out to be a small patch that only added the Buried Treasure item.
If the Epic and Legendary Infantry Rifles are introduced in the next update, they are expected to have higher damage compared to the lower-rarity versions.
Fortnite statistics website Storm Shield One discovered that the Epic and Legendary Infantry Rifles could deal 47 and 50 player damage, respectively, with no damage reduction based on the shot’s distance. Additionally, their reload times would be lower than those of the lower-rarity Infantry Rifles.
Bug Fixes
Epic’s Community Issues board on Trello indicates that several bug fixes will be implemented in the v8.10 update. This includes resolving an issue where mobile players would get stuck in an auto fire loop after certain actions. Additionally, two minor Driftboard issues and a PlayStation 4 mouse sensitivity problem might also be addressed in this week’s update.
We will update this story with more information as it becomes available for Fortnite this week.
