Playground mode, widely loved by Fortnite players, makes its triumphant return

Fortnite’s Playground Mode Returns After Hiatus

The open world sandbox mode in Fortnite, known as Playground, has made a comeback this morning after being on hiatus for a few weeks.

Epic Games describes Playground as a relaxed environment where friends can unleash their creativity. It is an hour-long match where up to four friends can drop in and do whatever they want.

Players have the option to respawn, meaning they can engage in scrimmages, grudge matches, or simply have fun teasing their friends while exploring the map. Weapons, materials, and items spawn at higher rates than usual.

With the abundance of materials and the freedom to build, players often enjoy constructing massive structures or creating adventures like Mario Kart race tracks. The recent addition of golf carts to the game is expected to further enhance these creative endeavors.

The 5.1 update also brought some changes to the mode. Players can now switch teams in-game to collaborate creatively or practice fighting. Additionally, a significant amount of loot was added, including 100 supply drops, 100 Loot Llamas, increased rocket ammo capacity, and ten times the ammo from ammo cans. The respawn timer has been reduced from 10 seconds to three seconds, allowing players to return to the action faster.

Epic still refers to Playground as a limited time mode, but there are plans to make it a permanent feature in the future, according to the game’s official Twitch account.
