Speculation and Clues

Fortnite dataminers have uncovered some information from the game files that may shed light on how the Bottle Rockets will work. However, at this time, everything is still mere speculation.

Lucas7yoshi, known for leaking Fortnite information, revealed an image showcasing the crosshairs of the Bottle Rockets. While this may not be much, it provides players with an idea of what to expect.

The crosshairs resemble the shape of a grenade launcher’s crosshairs, suggesting that the Bottle Rockets might function similarly. However, it’s worth noting that rockets and grenades have different trajectories in real life. Rockets typically have a straight line trajectory, which might differ from the Bottle Rockets’ mechanics.

Additionally, the two lines at the bottom of the Bottle Rockets’ crosshairs indicate that players will need to adjust their aim based on the distance to their target. Like other weapons in Fortnite, the Bottle Rockets should be affected by gravity and lack first shot accuracy.

Possible Trap Mechanic and Limited Ammo

By examining the Bottle Rockets’ icon, it appears that the item has a base that keeps it on the ground. This suggests that the Bottle Rockets might function as a trap, requiring placement on a floor tile and mounting by a player before use, similar to the Mounted Turret. The icon also implies that the Bottle Rockets might have a limited ammo capacity, with seven shots before running out.

Confirmation and Release

Although details are still scarce, players can expect confirmation and more information about the Bottle Rockets when the v7.40 update is released, potentially tomorrow or Wednesday.
