Major Updates in Fortnite 6.0 Include Pets, Shadow Stones, and Vaulted Weapons

The New Season of Fortnite: Battle Royale Brings Exciting Changes

The highly anticipated sixth season of Fortnite: Battle Royale has finally arrived, and players can expect major changes to the gameplay and iconic map.

New Consumable and Abilities

One of the exciting new additions is the Shadow Stones, which can be found in “corrupted” areas of the map. These consumables grant players 45 seconds of “Shadow Form,” making them invisible when standing still. However, they cannot use weapons while in this state. Moving will make players visible again, but they will leave behind a Shadow Trail.

Improved Movement and Abilities

The new season also brings a speed boost for movement, jump height, and fall damage immunity, similar to the low-gravity zones in season five. Players can now also use the new ability called Phase, which propels them in the direction they are facing and allows them to pass through objects.

Item Changes

Several items have been removed from the game, including the Impulse Grenade, Suppressed Submachine Gun, Light Machine Gun, Bouncer, and Remote Explosives. However, they can still be used in Playground mode.

New Features and Locations

Players can now have their own pets, including dragons, dogs, and lizards, to accompany them into battle. Additionally, there are four new location additions to the map: Corrupted Areas, Corn Fields, Haunted Castle, and Floating Island.

Updates to the Storm Circle

The Storm Circle has also undergone changes. The wait times for the fourth zone have been reduced, but the shrink time has increased by the same amount. In later portions of the game, the circle will move 50-percent further from the previous zone, as stated in the patch notes.

Save The World Updates

For Save The World mode, there are rewards for enabling Multi-Factor Authentication, a new Cram Session mini-event, and the addition of the Ratatat Machine Pistol to the Weekly Store. To learn more about these updates, refer to the patch notes.

With the server downtime over, players can now dive into the 6.0 update, explore the new map, and experience the brand-new Battle Pass. For more details, check out the full patch notes here.
