Leaks reveal the possible reappearance of cube runes in Fortnite’s snow biome

New Cube Runes Spotted in Fortnite: Battle Royale

Data miners have discovered new runes in the latest v8.40 update of Fortnite: Battle Royale. These runes bear a striking resemblance to the ones left by the giant purple cube, Kevin, during season five. In the game files, they are referred to as “Snow_Runes.” This suggests that this time, the runes will appear in the snow biome southwest of the map, rather than in the central areas like before.

Potential Return of the Cube

Unlike the seven cube runes seen in season five, this time there are only five new runes. While the data miners have found evidence of these runes in the game files, they have yet to find confirmation that the cube will be responsible for burning them onto the ground once again. However, a few audio files similar to the cube have also been discovered. These, however, are not sufficient proof of the cube’s return.

If the cube or another entity is indeed responsible for the appearance of these runes, players can expect them to start appearing this week. Typically, game files are added when they are ready to be used, which indicates that there may be new developments related to the runes, the snow biome, and the Loot Lake hatch within the coming week.

At present, data miners have not discovered any information regarding when and where these new runes will appear in the future. While the return of the cube remains uncertain, it is clear that its powers and runes are poised to be utilized by someone or something else.
