Fortnite Season 5 Update: Gyro Controls for Switch
Fortnite’s season five has arrived, bringing a new feature exclusively for Switch players. Epic Games has introduced motion or gyro controls for those who prefer them, which can be toggled in the settings menu.
With gyro controls, players can use the console itself or the controller to aim in-game, eliminating the need for the right analogue stick. This option can make aiming in hectic teamfights faster and easier, whether shooting enemies or building structures quickly.
It is important to note that gyro controls are fully adjustable to suit your preferences. However, it is recommended to turn them off when on the move, as any movement will affect the camera and potentially disrupt your gameplay. In such cases, returning to the traditional controller layout is advised.
It’s worth mentioning that Fortnite is not the first game to utilize gyro controls on the Switch. Games like Splatoon 2 have already incorporated this technology, allowing players to play using alternative means instead of traditional analogue controls.
In addition to the gyro controls, Switch owners can also enjoy the new season five update, which introduces a new desert biome and a new vehicle called the All-Terrain Kart for exploration.
