Fortnite: Battle Royale Update Adds Balloons and Vaults Weapons

This week’s update for Fortnite: Battle Royale brings a new addition to the game and removes some weapons from the arsenal.

Balloons Join the Battle Royale Arsenal

The latest v6.21 game update introduces balloons as a new item. These purple Epic rarity balloons come in sets of 20 and can be deployed based on the number available. Players can hold up to six balloons, inflating them with the primary fire button and releasing them with the secondary fire button.

Find Balloons and Pop Them

Balloons can be found on floors, in chests, supply drops, supply llamas, and vending machines. However, they have a time limit, despite their ability to reach the max build height on the island.

Weapons Vaulted in this Update

In addition to the introduction of balloons, this update also removes a few weapons from the game. The semi-automatic sniper, guided missile, and dual pistols have been vaulted. However, the dualies are still available in Playground Mode.

Other Changes in the Update

This update also includes adjustments to the grappler player velocity when using it in a passenger vehicle. The pull velocity of the grappler and the current velocity of the vehicle are combined, allowing players to reach high speeds. Additionally, Epic Games has fixed various quality of life aspects related to general gameplay, audio, and replays.
