Infinity Blade Could Make a Limited Time Mode Comeback in Fortnite: Battle Royale

Controversial Weapon May Return to Fortnite: Battle Royale

According to a recent leak, one of the most controversial weapons in Fortnite history may be making a comeback soon. The leak comes from a Twitter account called Lucas7Yoshi_, which has consistently provided datamined Fortnite content. In the game files, a Limited Time Mode called “Blades” was discovered.

Infinity Blade LTM

Limited information was found in the game files, but it seems that the Infinity Blade will play a major role in this mode. The Infinity Blade was added to Fortnite on Dec. 11 as the first Mythic weapon. However, players quickly realized its overpowered abilities and flaws.

Epic Games agreed with the players’ feedback and acknowledged their mistake in adding the Infinity Blade. They swiftly vaulted the weapon on Dec. 14 and announced that they would be re-evaluating the Mythic class.

The Future of Mythic Items

Although the Infinity Blade was vaulted, it does not necessarily mean that it and other future Mythic items are gone forever. This Limited Time Mode could serve as a testing ground for Epic Games to introduce new ideas without disrupting the regular playlists or competitive tournaments.

Introducing an LTM focused on hand-to-hand combat may not be a bad idea for the future of Fortnite: Battle Royale.

Possible Arrival Date

If the leak is accurate, players can expect to see the Blade LTM added in the next few weeks, possibly during the 14 Days of Fortnite event starting on Dec. 19.
