Improved wall placement coming in Fortnite update v7.20

Epic Games to Improve Wall Placement in Fortnite: Battle Royale

Epic Games has announced a plan to fix wall placement issues in certain areas of the map in Fortnite: Battle Royale.

Addressing the Issue

In some parts of the map, players have experienced problems where walls either build partially below the ground or are obstructed by it. To tackle this issue, Eric Williamson, the design lead at Epic, shared on Reddit that an update is coming in v7.20 to address this problem.

Upcoming Changes

A video was shared on Reddit demonstrating the wall placement issue near Tilted Towers. In response, Epic has implemented a change where players will be able to build an initial wall and then add another layer on top of it without using any extra materials. This change will only apply when attempting to place a wall that requires a connection to a building piece and when the connecting piece is at least 70 percent underground.

Automatic Building and Team Ownership Rules

Under the specified circumstances, the required connecting piece will now automatically build itself for free. Additionally, the connecting piece will inherit the team ownership rules and material type of the desired piece, according to Williamson.

Please note that this feature is not yet live and will be introduced in the upcoming v7.20 update, expected to be released next week. This improvement will be greatly appreciated by Fortnite players, especially those who have been frustrated with wall placement in difficult building areas.
