Guide: How to Unlock the Ruin Skin in Fortnite Season 8

Unlock the Ruin Skin in Fortnite Season 8

The highly anticipated Ruin skin has arrived in Fortnite: Battle Royale as part of the season eight Battle Pass. To unlock this Legendary character outfit, players must complete specific challenges throughout the season. Here’s how you can get your hands on the Ruin skin.

Requirements to Unlock the Ruin Skin

One of the challenges in the Discovery set states that players need to complete 55 weekly challenges during season eight to unlock a mystery item, which is the Ruin skin. Since there are 10 weeks of challenges in this season, with three free and four premium challenges each week, players must complete nearly eight full weeks of Battle Pass challenges to unlock Ruin.

To clarify, players will only be able to unlock Ruin starting from week eight, beginning on April 18. It is not possible to unlock Ruin before that date. After that, players can complete any 55 weekly challenges to unlock Ruin, even if they haven’t completed a full set of challenges in season eight.

Free Players’ Limitations

Players who have not purchased the season eight Battle Pass and only have access to free weekly challenges can only complete up to 30 challenges throughout the season. Unfortunately, this means they will not be able to unlock Ruin at any point, even after all weekly challenges are available.

However, players who do complete 55 weekly challenges will automatically unlock Ruin. The skin will be permanently available in their Locker and can be selected even after season eight ends.

Deadline to Unlock Ruin

The Ruin skin is exclusive to season eight, meaning players have until the end of the season on May 8 to complete 55 weekly challenges and unlock Ruin. After this date, it will no longer be possible to unlock Ruin. Epic Games rarely brings back season-exclusive skins in new challenges or the Item Shop, so this may be the last opportunity for players to obtain Ruin.
