Friday Fortnite tournament is said to have drawn 8.8 million distinct viewers

The Biggest Tournament in Fortnite Draws Massive Viewership

The Friday Fortnite competition hosted by Daniel “KEEMSTAR” Keem has achieved record-breaking viewership numbers. According to Keem, the latest tournament attracted an impressive 8.8 million unique viewers, making it the most-watched tournament to date.

However, it’s worth noting that Keem included a disclaimer stating that viewers might be counted twice if they watched multiple livestreams. Therefore, the actual viewership number may not be entirely accurate. Nonetheless, it still reflects the immense popularity of Fortnite and the esports community’s interest in these weekly tournaments.

Keem also shared viewership numbers for the previous three tournaments. The first tournament drew over 5 million viewers, which then increased to over 7 million in the second week and further rose to 8.5 million in the third week.

The Friday Fortnite tournament has been a resounding success for the players involved, with Twitch star Tyler “Ninja” Blevins leading the way. Although Ninja didn’t participate in the first tournament, he attracted 2.4 million, 2.6 million, and 1.9 million viewers on his own stream in the subsequent three tournaments. If not for an early elimination, Ninja’s viewership in the last tournament would likely have matched or surpassed the previous weeks’ numbers.

Other notable players who have garnered substantial viewership include FaZe Clan’s Turner “Tfue” Tenney, TSM’s Darryle “Hamlinz” Hamlin and Ali “Myth” Kabbani, among others.

Moreover, the Friday Fortnite tournament has not only benefited Twitch streamers but has also seen support from the YouTube Gaming audience. Content creators like Andre “TypicalGamer” Rebolo and Nick Eh 30 have crossed the 1 million unique viewers mark. In the latest tournament, Nick Eh 30 led on YouTube with 1.3 million unique viewers.

The popularity of Friday Fortnite has introduced both players and viewers to the esports scene. With Epic Games offering a $100 million prize pool for competitive play in the first year, Fortnite esports has gained widespread attention and participation.

These weekly tournaments have successfully brought together the best and most popular players, attracting a global audience. The growing viewership indicates that people are not just watching but also enjoying the Fortnite competitive scene.
