Fortnite’s Wailing Woods rune is activated on the floating island

The Moving Island Activates Another Rune at Wailing Woods

The floating island that started its journey at Loot Lake has now made its way to Wailing Woods, where it has activated yet another rune.

The Wailing Woods rune is the fifth one to be affected by the movement of the Loot Lake island, which started over a week ago.

Since Sept. 30, the island has activated a total of five runes, including the most recent one at Wailing Woods. The first target was near Pleasant Park, followed by Shifty Shafts. It then turned its attention to the northwest rune of Fatal Fields. On Oct. 9, the island activated the spot southeast of Retail Row, initiating the transformation we’ve seen at each of the affected Corrupted Areas.

Along with the wind vortex pushing the rune symbol out of the ground, volcanic pits have appeared on the surface, which can launch players into the air. The cube, embedded below Loot Lake island, is also expanding across the floating island.

With each activation of a rune, larger pieces of the cube have emerged in the house and underground section of the floating island. Initially, the cube had a minimal presence above ground level, but it now has multiple layers throughout the house.

If the island maintains this pattern, it will remain at Wailing Woods for the next few days until the symbol resets and the island moves towards another Corrupted Area. Only two untouched runes remain: one southwest of Dusty Divot and another south of Lazy Links. This leaves a 50% chance of predicting where the island will head next week.
