Fortnite’s v7.40 Update Faces Further Delay Due to a Last Minute Issue

Fortnite v7.40 Update Delayed Again

The highly anticipated v7.40 update for Fortnite has once again been delayed, according to a recent announcement by developer Epic Games on Twitter. Originally scheduled for release on Wednesday at 3am CT, the company cited a last-minute issue with the update as the reason for the delay. Epic Games plans to announce a new release date and time soon.

Change in Release Schedule

Typically, Fortnite updates are released on Tuesday mornings. However, the French Twitter account for the game announced a change in schedule, indicating that the update would be pushed to Wednesday morning without providing a reason. This information was later confirmed by the English Fortnite account.

Account Issue Fix and Delay Announcement

Epic Games recently addressed an issue where PlayStation 4 players were unable to log in after merging their accounts. They assured players that they were working on a fix. Shortly after, the company announced the delay in the v7.40 release.

Update Expectations

Details about the specific issue causing the delay were not provided by Epic Games. However, players should not anticipate the v7.40 update to go live on Wednesday. Typically, when the company cannot meet their initial release goal, they delay the update by a full day. Therefore, Fortnite players can expect the game update to be available on Thursday morning at the earliest.
