A new in-game message in Fortnite: Battle Royale’s News section hints at an upcoming weapon in the game.
Introducing the Light Machine Gun
The next addition to Fortnite’s arsenal will be the Light Machine Gun (LMG). Described as a weapon with a fast rate of fire, large magazine, and slow reload, it’s clear that an LMG is on its way.
A light machine gun functions similarly to the already available minigun, boasting a high ammo capacity and a rapid fire rate. It will be interesting to see what sets these two weapons apart.
The LMG, along with other weapons like an automatic shotgun, a break action shotgun, an M249 SAW, and a precision rifle, were discovered in the game files after the 3.1 update in early April. However, only the LMG awaits its debut in the game.
While an official release date for the LMG has not been announced, players can expect it to be added to the Fortnite servers sometime this week after the game’s weekly update.
