Fortnite’s Shotgun Damage Gets Reduced, Jetpack to Be Vaulted Next Week

Epic Games Introduces Major Changes to Fortnite’s 4.3 Update

Epic Games has made significant changes to Fortnite’s 4.3 update that could greatly impact the gameplay experience.

Shotguns Receive Damage Reductions

To address concerns about shotguns being overused, Epic Games has nerfed both the pump shotgun and tactical shotgun.

Shotgun Nerfs Explained

Epic Games stated in the patch notes that recent changes in equip time have led to shotguns being used more frequently than desired. As a result, the pump shotgun’s headshot multiplier has been reduced from 2.5 to 2.0, and its overall damage has decreased from 90/95 to 80/85. The tactical shotgun has also received the same nerf to the headshot multiplier.

Epic Games Aims for Shotgun Consistency

Epic Games has expressed their commitment to improving shotgun consistency by making it clearer when shots hit or miss. They are also prioritizing enhancing accuracy and addressing other irregularities with the weapon.

Jetpack Set to Be Vaulted

The jetpack, a special item often used in combination with shotguns, will be vaulted on Monday, June 11 at 7am CT. Epic Games may reintroduce the jetpack at a later date with improvements and new changes.

Trap Damage Doubled

Another significant change is the doubling of trap damage from 75 to 150. Traps now have the ability to down or eliminate players without shields, providing a significant advantage in dealing damage or eliminating opponents.

These changes have been implemented retroactively to the 4.3 update. Experience them in-game and share your thoughts with Epic.
