Fortnite’s season 8 retains availability of Driftboards

Epic Games Confirms Driftboard Will Remain in Fortnite: Battle Royale Season Eight

Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite: Battle Royale, has confirmed that the latest vehicle, Driftboard, will continue to be available in season eight. The vehicle will be included in the upcoming v8.00 update, which is the first update of the new season. Players can expect to see minor adjustments to the Driftboard in tomorrow morning’s patch notes.

It seems that Epic Games is compensating for the delayed release of the Driftboard during season seven.

In the teaser image for season seven, the Driftboard was featured prominently. Originally, it was meant to be launched in the v7.10 update, which was one of the first updates of the season. However, due to quality-of-life issues, its release was postponed. Epic Games wanted to ensure that the Driftboard met players’ expectations, so they held off on its release for several weeks.

Finally, the Driftboard was introduced in the v7.40 Content Update, which was the final update of season seven. Along with the vehicle, Epic Games also included the new Limited Timed Mode called Driftin’, allowing players to test and utilize the Driftboard in a big-team mode. The vehicle was available in both standard playlists and the Driftin’ mode.

Fortnite players who enjoy using the Driftboard will be pleased to know that it will be available for at least another week. As for its relevance in season eight, Epic Games has not yet indicated how long the Driftboard will be available or how it will fit into the new Fortnite island. In season seven, the Driftboard was a perfect match for the snow and winter setting, and we will soon see if it remains suitable for the new season’s theme.
