Epic Games Introduces Scallywag Duos Cup to Improve Fortnite World Cup Tournaments
The developers of Fortnite: Battle Royale, Epic Games, have announced a new test tournament called Scallywag Duos Cup. This tournament aims to enhance the Events system for the Fortnite World Cup and will feature a prize pool of $100,000.
Set to take place on March 16 and 17, the Scallywag Duos Cup will be open to participants from all regions. Those who compete will have the chance to win a share of the prize money. The detailed rules for this tournament will be revealed later this week.

Epic Games states that the Scallywag Duos Cup serves as a test for their prize payment systems leading up to the Fortnite World Cup. However, the company has yet to disclose the exact details of how prizes will be distributed in this tournament.
The Scallywag Duos Cup will consist of two rounds. In the first round, any eligible player who has ranked within the top three percent in Solo or Duos Gauntlet Test Event can participate. This event will take place on March 16 at 11am CT. Those who qualify in the first round will automatically move on to compete in the Scallywag Duos Cup.
The second round will be exclusive to the top 3,000 players from the first round. While Epic Games has not specified, it is likely that the top 3,000 players in each region will qualify for this stage, rather than globally. This is due to the challenges of matching players from different continents. The distribution of the prize pool among the top players in the second round has yet to be announced.
