Fortnite’s Rocket Launch: Odd Consequences for the Map

Saturday’s Spectacle in Fortnite

The worldwide event in Fortnite on Saturday was quite the spectacle. Players from all around the world gathered to witness a rocket launch that sent the rocket teleporting all over the place.

Throughout the season, players believed there was an ongoing battle between heroes and villains on Fortnite’s island. Initially, it seemed like the villains launched the rocket to destroy Tilted Towers, but the heroes managed to stop them.

However, if you analyze the loading screens unlocked throughout the season, a different story emerges.

Let’s start from the beginning.

The Meteor Strikes

The fourth season began with a massive meteor striking Dusty Depot, setting off a series of events.

The heroes team up like the Avengers, led by Carbide, to monitor Omega’s actions and discover that he operates from a base on a mountain near Snobby Shores, where the rocket is located.

The battle begins, with all the heroes and villains involved. This loading screen showcases most of the hero and villain skins introduced throughout the season.

However, something unexpected happens…

The entire battle turns out to be a movie set. Valor and Omega are seen relaxing on the set of what appears to be a high-budget superhero film. So, was it all just for commercial success?

Not quite.

A New Challenger Appears

A new character, The Visitor, emerges from a vessel, indicating that things are about to get “real.” The Visitor skin is a reward for completing all challenges for at least seven weeks during the season.

The vessel was inside the meteor that started all the events. Players can now go to Dusty Divot and witness the opened door of the vessel after weeks of gradual unveiling. Here’s a look at it:

And now, for the final unlocked loading screen of season four…

We Have Lift-Off

The Visitor can be seen operating the rocket’s controls just days before the launch. It turns out, he was the one behind it all. On Saturday, the rocket took off, teleporting all over the map and leaving blue streaks in its wake. Finally, it breached the sky and created a massive crack. The event left players puzzled.

So, what exactly happened? A Reddit user named TheCourierWatches has a compelling theory.

According to their theory, The Visitor comes from a different time period through the meteor, and he used the rocket to try and return home. The blue streaks and portals represent “tears upon the fabric of the space-time continuum” as he went through several loops across the island to gather enough speed to rip through the continuum and reach home.

While that’s an interesting idea, the crack in the sky and other rifts on the map could have more significant implications in the future. TheCourierWatches suggests that these rifts and cracks will eventually allow time to leak through.

“Pieces of ancient and modern history will fall through the universe, causing the island to undergo a major visual revamp,” they explained.

Another image shared by Reddit user Discount_Pringles shows the crack in the sky growing larger with time. Something is definitely happening, and with about ten days until the start of season five, we may witness another significant change in the map.

In fact, recent leaks of new models featuring a wild west theme and a strip mall give more credibility to the “Fortnite Time Travel” theory. The rifts at Lonely Lodge and the motel may just be the beginning, as we could see entirely new points of interest from different time periods replacing them.

Epic Games has consistently shown their commitment to making the Fortnite map a dynamic and evolving experience. This is evident throughout the season with minor changes happening across the map, such as new buildings appearing and trees growing in new places.

With season five approaching, we can expect more significant changes than ever before, and The Visitor may be the driving force behind it all.
