Fortnite’s meteor theory gains increasing evidence

The Future of Tilted Towers in Fortnite: Battle Royale

It looks like the days of guaranteed instant combat at Tilted Towers may be numbered.

Thanks to the game’s new replay system, we now have more evidence of an impending event involving a comet or meteor in Fortnite: Battle Royale.

A Reddit user named “darksmudgey” discovered an interesting find using the replay system’s controllable camera. They found a placeholder egg shape beneath Tilted Towers. While it could be a fake, it matches a shape found in a previous datamine.

Speaking of datamines, YouTubers TwoEpicBuddies have apparently uncovered the name of a new mode that will be coming soon to Fortnite. The mode is called “Impact,” which is suggestive of something a meteor or comet might do, don’t you think?

It seems clear at this point that Epic Games has something planned for Fortnite. The comet event could potentially be a limited time mode, but it might be more than that. Removing the popular Tilted Towers from the map through a comet’s destruction could be an interesting and engaging way to shake things up.

But what if it doesn’t stop there? What if it’s not a comet or meteor, but a UFO instead? Considering the space-themed season three, could season four introduce aliens? A UFO could bring about numerous changes in the game, such as new skins, weapons, and more.

Whichever theory you believe, we should find out more very soon. Season three of Fortnite is set to end on April 30.
