Fortnite’s Latest Update, v8.20.1, Now Released with Patch Notes Accessible

Epic Games Releases Fortnite Update to Fix Bugs and Stability Issues

Epic Games released an update this morning for Fortnite to address bugs and stability issues. The patch notes for this v8.20.1 update were provided a few hours after its deployment.

No Downtime Required

Fortunately, there was no downtime required for this update. However, players will need to download the update before jumping into their next match.

No Changes to Game Mechanics

Despite player expectations, the v8.20.1 update did not revert the changes made to the core game mode mechanics. This means that the health gained per elimination is still removed, and the material harvesting rate is still decreased. All game modes remain the same as they were after the v8.20 update.

Stability Issues Addressed

Fortnite players have been experiencing stability problems since the release of v8.20. In response, Epic temporarily disabled the Thermal Scoped Assault Rifle to investigate the issue. Additionally, iOS players encountered login problems late last night and were being removed from their matches.

Main Bug Fixes

The v8.20.1 update for Fortnite: Battle Royale primarily focuses on bug fixes. These include resolving issues with the Poison Dart Trap being hidden behind certain wall assets, problems with Boogie Bomb and The Baller interactions, and fixing problems with the Arena Mode queue when Duos were in different divisions.

There were no gameplay changes in the v8.20.1 update.
