Fortnite’s Latest Update, v8.01, Is Delayed

Fortnite: Battle Royale’s First Update of Season Eight May Be Delayed

The highly anticipated first update of season eight for Fortnite: Battle Royale is unlikely to arrive this Tuesday. Developer Epic Games typically releases game updates on early Tuesday mornings and provides information on Twitter about the upcoming version, scheduled downtime, and estimated release time for patch notes the day before the update goes live. However, as of this Monday and Tuesday morning, no such announcements have been made, suggesting that the v8.01 update may be postponed until tomorrow or Thursday.

Furthermore, Epic Games has not yet confirmed the specific version of the update. Following the release pattern of season seven, it is likely to be v8.01, but it could also be labeled as a v8.00 Content Update or jump straight to v8.10.

While we await confirmation on the game version, it may take a few more days to learn about the contents of the update. However, recent leaks and announcements from Epic Games provide some insight, including the introduction of the Buried Treasure item and improvements to footstep sounds. There are also rumors about the addition of new Epic and Legendary Infantry Rifles.

If the update is scheduled for Wednesday, there is a possibility that Epic Games will reveal more information today on the official Fortnite Twitter account. However, if the update is set for Thursday, the company may choose to wait until tomorrow to provide players with more details about the patch.
