Fortnite’s latest update sends some variants of the Burst Rifle to the vault

The Latest Fortnite: Battle Royale Content Update

The most recent update for Fortnite: Battle Royale has just been released, bringing with it some exciting changes to the game. In a surprising move, developer Epic Games decided to bring back a previously vaulted weapon, while also sending some other weapons to the vault.

Changes to Vaulted Weapons

Weapons that are vaulted are removed from regular modes but may occasionally make appearances in specific Limited Time Modes. If a mode does not specify it, these weapons will also be removed from that mode.

One of the most surprising changes is the vaulting of Common, Uncommon, and Rare Burst Assault Rifles. From now on, players will only encounter the Epic and Legendary versions of this weapon, which resemble the Famas. The classic AK-style Burst Rifle is gone for now, leaving all other Assault Rifles still available in the game.

Goodbye Six Shooter, Hello Dual Pistols

The Six Shooter pistol has been completely vaulted due to player complaints. It was heavily underused and outperformed by other weapons in terms of accuracy and damage. In its place, players will now find the return of the Dual Pistols. The Dual Pistols were vaulted in the November 1st update during the Halloween event Fortnitemares and have not been available in the game since then. Epic Games has brought them back, but it is not clear if there have been any changes to their damage or spawn rate.

Joining the Vaulted Weapons List

The low-rarity Burst Rifles and the Six Shooter now join a long list of vaulted Fortnite weapons, which includes the Crossbow, Tactical Submachine Gun, and Drum Gun.

Epic Games does not provide information on when or if vaulted weapons will return to the game in the future. However, with the release of the Unvaulted Limited Time Mode, there is a chance that any of these weapons may make a comeback when the mode returns to its rotation of weekly LTMs.
