Fortnite’s Latest Update, Patch v7.30, Introduces Removed Weapons and Bug Fixes

Fortnite v7.30 Patch Notes: Weapon Changes and Bug Fixes

The latest update for Fortnite, version 7.30, is now live and brings with it a host of weapon changes and bug fixes.

Before the patch notes were released, it was already known that the Chiller Grenade would be included in the update. This explosive device was teased yesterday and is now confirmed to be part of the v7.30 update.

The Chiller Grenade is a common explosive that has the ability to knock players back and freeze their feet, causing them to slide along the ground. It also affects vehicles, making them slide for seven seconds. Chiller Grenades can only be found on the floor or in vending machines, so they will not impact the drop rates of other items found in chests.

Vaulted Weapons

Several weapons have been sent to the vault and will no longer be available in standard modes and Fortnite events. The Bolt-Action Sniper Rifles, Heavy Shotgun, and Common, Uncommon, and Rare SMGs will be vaulted, along with the Epic and Legendary variants of the Burst Rifle.

This means that the Burst Rifle is now permanently removed, as its lower rarity versions were vaulted in the v7.10 update.

Additionally, Epic Games has decided to bring back the Common, Uncommon, and Rare Suppressed SMGs, without making any changes to their stats from before they were vaulted at the start of season six.

Materials

Epic Games has made changes to the amount of materials players receive from sources other than harvesting. Materials found in chests and on the floor now come in stacks of 30 instead of 20, while materials from supply drops have been increased to 60 from 40. These changes represent a 50% increase, which can significantly impact the amount of materials players have in the mid and late-game.

Fixes and Adjustments

This update focuses primarily on bug fixes. Epic Games has addressed approximately 40 bugs across various aspects of the game, including audio, gameplay, mobile, and user interface. Of particular interest to players are the fixes for frame rate drops that occur during sudden changes in the game, such as large shifts in view direction.

New Modes

Fortnite players can look forward to the return of the Limited Time Mode Solid Gold, which features only legendary weapons. In the Events department, the Architect Pop-Up Cup will allow players to edit any player-made structure, regardless of whether they were built by allies or not.

All changes from the v7.30 update will be available for testing by players once the server downtime is over, which is expected to be in a couple of hours.
