Fortnite’s Latest Update Introduces Several New Map Locations and an All-Terrain Kart

Fortnite’s Latest Update Brings Exciting Map Changes and a New Vehicle

The highly anticipated 5.0 update for Fortnite is now live, and it comes packed with thrilling map changes and an exciting addition to the game: a vehicle that can accommodate your entire squad.

According to the patch notes, the island now features Viking ships, desert outposts, and ancient statues. Players can hop into the All Terrain Kart (ATK) with their squad and embark on an adventure filled with new mysteries and locations.

The rocket launch has created a rift that has dramatically changed the map, introducing a new desert biome and two named locations – Paradise Palms and Lazy Links. Additionally, players can explore several other unnamed points of interest spread across the island.

The update also introduces the All Terrain Kart, an ideal vehicle for squad exploration. This vehicle can accommodate the whole team, allowing them to work together as rear passengers to perform high jumps by leaning back and releasing at the same time. The kart also provides a speed boost after drifting and can be used as a bounce pad with its roof.

Another exciting addition is the introduction of Rifts that players can interact with. Epic Games teases that stepping through a Rift will be a wild ride, although the specific effects of these Rifts are yet to be discovered.

In terms of gameplay changes, shotguns have been adjusted to display the number of pellets that hit within the damage reticle. There is now consistent shotgun spread with no random variation.

Epic Games has also addressed the “double pump” strategy by implementing a cooldown period, preventing players from firing another shotgun for a short time after firing one. The Heavy Shotgun has also received a change, now firing 10 pellets instead of five.

Furthermore, endgame dynamics have been altered, with the storm circles in stage seven, eight, and nine being able to shift and shrink in random directions. Players will need to pay closer attention and adapt to the changing center of the storm.

The 5.0 update, including a brand new Battle Pass and all these exciting changes, will be available for players once the server maintenance ends.
