Fortnite’s Latest 6.20 Update Unveils Spooky Halloween Event: Fortnitemares and Cube Monsters

The Latest Fortnite Update Brings Halloween Event Fortnitemares

The latest Fortnite 6.20 update is live and it includes a new Halloween event called Fortnitemares. This event brings temporary gameplay changes such as the addition of Cube Monsters and Cube Brutes that players can fight to earn loot and shield. Additionally, a new limited-time weapon, the Fiend Hunter Crossbow, has been introduced, along with a set of challenges to upgrade the new Deadfire outfit.

Fortnite Adds PvE Elements to Battle Royale

For the first time ever, Epic Games has included elements from the PvE version of Fortnite, Save the World, in the Battle Royale mode with this seasonal event.

New Challenges and Gameplay Mechanics

The Cube Monsters and Brutes will spawn near corrupted areas on the map, where players will find large cube fragments. Randomly spawning small cube fragments can also create these Cube Monsters during the match. Players will have to decide whether to focus on eliminating monsters for loot and shield or to engage in combat with human opponents to progress in the game. Eliminating Cube Monsters might even allow players to steal kills and earn shield for themselves.

New Weapons and Adjustments

The Fortnitemares event introduces a new limited-time weapon called the Fiend Hunter Crossbow, which is similar to the vaulted Crossbow from the first three seasons of Battle Royale. Another new weapon, the Six Shooter, is a permanent addition to the game. The Rocket Launcher has also been transformed into the Pumpkin Rocket Launcher to match the Halloween theme. Along with these additions, Epic Games has made some other small adjustments, including the glider redeploy mechanic, changes to Storm times and dynamics, and increased minimum damage of the Hand Cannon against players and structures.
