Fortnite’s Latest 4.5 Update Introduces Playground LTM, Dual Pistols, and SMG Enhancements

The Exciting New Update 4.5 for Fortnite Brings the Playground Mode

The servers of Fortnite have temporarily gone offline in preparation for the much-awaited update 4.5. This update introduces a thrilling limited-time mode called Playground.

Players have been eagerly anticipating the Playground mode since its announcement in May. Essentially, it is a sandbox game mode that allows players to freely explore and experiment without the usual restrictions of a traditional battle royale game mode.

Each Playground game can last up to an hour, offering ample time for players to build, shoot, and engage in any activities they desire. Respawns are possible unless players meet their demise due to the storm. However, the storm does not begin closing in until 55 minutes have passed.

Resources will generate at a rate ten times faster than usual, providing players with an abundance of materials. Additionally, there will be 100 Loot Llamas scattered throughout the map. Chests and ammo boxes will also spawn with a 100 percent rate, ensuring an ample supply of loot for players to experiment with.

Furthermore, a new weapon called the Dual Pistols will be introduced in this update. Players can find these pistols in Epic and Legendary variations, using Medium ammo. Both pistols fire simultaneously upon pulling the trigger, and they do not have first-shot accuracy.

The update also includes several quality of life improvements. The Tactical SMG has received significant changes, with a 25 percent increase in base accuracy and a damage boost of two. However, its ADS (Aim Down Sight) bonus has been decreased by 10 percent. The Silenced SMG has also received a damage buff of two, in addition to a 10 percent increase in base accuracy and a 20 percent ADS bonus buff.

To decrease reliance on shotguns, they will now deal less damage to structures. The pump shotgun’s damage to structures has been reduced by 50 percent, while the tactical and heavy shotguns’ damage has been reduced by 25 percent. Shotgun ammo will also drop in stacks of four instead of five.

Additionally, some changes may stir controversy among hardcore players. Peeking through walls in edit mode will be more difficult since the walls will be opaque instead of transparent. Explosions will now damage all structures within their range, regardless of visibility from the explosion center.
