Fortnite’s Item Shop to Receive ‘Undo Purchase’ Button, Courtesy of Epic

Fortnite: Battle Royale Players May Soon Have an Undo Button for Accidental Purchases

According to an engineer at Epic Games, players of Fortnite: Battle Royale may soon have a short time window to undo accidental purchases in the game’s Item Shop. This new feature would allow players to return cosmetic items without using one of their Refund Tokens from the current system.

Within five minutes of their cosmetic item purchase in the Item Shop, players would be able to receive a full refund for the returned item. However, it’s important for players to note that if they start a match within this time window, the undo button for that purchase will be disabled.

Receiving Mixed Reactions from the Community

The news of the potential undo button was met with disapproval by the Fortnite community. An Epic engineer shared this information in response to a Reddit post that highlighted Japan’s version of Fortnite on PlayStation 4, which features a “confirm purchase” button in the Item Shop. The post’s author questioned why this feature hasn’t been implemented in other countries despite its high demand.

Suggestions and Criticisms from Players

The engineer explained that Japan’s version of the game has unique considerations, such as swapped button meanings and options to reverse button meanings. Despite negative feedback from players, Epic seems determined to introduce the undo button instead of a “confirm purchase” button.

reached out to Epic to inquire about a potential release date for this feature. The developer stated, “we don’t have any time frame or anything to add beyond what Dan mentions there.”
