Fortnite’s highly anticipated v7.40 update delayed until Wednesday

Fortnite v7.40 Update Postponed

Fortnite players were expecting a long list of changes with the release of the v7.40 update and patch notes. However, the update has been postponed until Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Confirmation from Fortnite Twitter Accounts

The French Fortnite Twitter account confirmed this morning that the v7.40 update will be postponed until Wednesday. The English account also confirmed it a few hours later.

Usually, Epic Games announces the release of an update beforehand. They use their Twitter account to inform players of the patch note availability and start of server downtime for the update. However, this time, the v7.40 update was not preceded by such announcements.

Epic Games, to compensate for the change in schedule, revealed beforehand a few balance changes players can expect in the v7.40 patch. Hand Cannons will deal less damage to structures, Rocket Launchers will have longer reload times, and will only be available in Supply Drops and Vending Machines. Additionally, X-4 Stormwing planes will no longer be able to fly through structures.

Other features and changes that Epic Games has not disclosed yet are expected in the v7.40 update, such as the Share the Love event and the Overtime challenges. Players will have to wait for the release of the patch notes to know more.

Players should be ready for significant changes as the v7.40 update approaches. Season seven ends on Feb. 28, and season eight begins. This transition is expected to bring major changes to the Fortnite island.
