Fortnite’s Floating Island Resurfaces at Leaky Lake with a Radiant Purple Glow

Fortnite: Battle Royale’s Floating Island Makes Its Return to Leaky Lake

After weeks of exploration, the floating island has finally returned to Leaky Lake in Fortnite: Battle Royale.

The infamous cube and floating island have made their momentous return, bringing a spooky new addition to the map. On the mini-map, a huge purple swirl is spiraling around the floating island, and inside the house, players can find more portions of the purple cube.

Season six saw the island separated from Leaky Lake, previously known as Loot Lake. The mysterious cube arrived in season five, causing the lake to turn into a trampoline-like surface for players to bounce on.

The cube then lifted the island into the sky, forming a tornado-like whirlwind underneath, and traveled to each of the seven runes around the map. Each rune activation resulted in the cube expanding and purple portions appearing on the island.

The island took approximately three days to reach the next rune activation. The runes were also recently moving towards the floating island before falling near Dusty Divot. Now, everything has seemingly returned to where it all started.

This marks a new chapter in the saga of the mysterious purple cube, but Fortnite fans know that this is likely not the end.
