Epic Games Announces Fortnite Fall Skirmish Event with $10 Million in Prizes
Epic Games is gearing up for the highly anticipated Fortnite Fall Skirmish event, which will feature six weeks of excitement and a staggering $10 million in prize money.
The action kicks off next weekend and will run until the end of October, culminating in the final event at TwitchCon from Oct. 26 to 28 in San Jose, California.
New Formats and More Fun
This Fall Skirmish will bring an exciting twist to the table compared to the previous Summer Skirmish. It will not only include competitive formats, but also introduce “entertainment” play formats. This means that players will have a chance to participate in a variety of events and fans will have a diverse range of spectating experiences.
Epic Games stated, “The new approach for Fall Skirmish will include both Competitive and Entertainment play formats. We’re looking to incorporate some of these new formats into our large-scale events in 2019. During Fall Skirmish, players will proudly represent themed teams and earn points based on their performances in both play formats. Each week will feature unique challenges, such as thrilling ATK races, epic golf outings, fun mini-games, and of course, intense skill competitions every weekend.”
More Prizes and Excitement
Epic Games also revealed that 500 Fortnite community members were awarded cash prizes during the Summer Skirmish, and they expect even more participants to cash in during the Fall Skirmish. Showdown Royale Teased
In addition to the Fall Skirmish, Epic Games hinted at an exciting upcoming feature called Showdown Royale. This in-game tournament system will allow the entire Fortnite community to compete and earn prizes in future competitive events. Get ready for more competitive thrills!
