Fortnite’s 6.21 Update Faces Delay Until Nov. 1 Over Last Minute Issue

Epic Games Delays Fortnite Update 6.21 Due to Last Minute Issue

Epic Games has announced a delay in the release of its latest update for Fortnite: Battle Royale. The 6.21 update, originally scheduled to go live today, has been delayed until tomorrow, November 1. The decision came after the discovery of a last minute issue with the new build, as mentioned on Twitter by Epic.

Continuing Issues for Fortnite

This delay follows a series of issues that have plagued Fortnite since the 6.20 update, which introduced the Fortnitemares Halloween event.

Previous Problems

On October 24, the day of Fortnitemares’ release, the event had to be disabled due to serious matchmaking issues. It took Epic over three hours to fix the problem, during which time players were unable to play Fortnitemares and take advantage of its new additions.

Later, on October 28, a bug within the third set of free challenges allowed players to earn up to 350 Battle Stars instead of experience points. Epic fixed the bug and decided to let players keep what they had earned before the fix.

Yet again, on October 29, players reported a bug with the Zoey outfit, causing users to be invisible at medium and long distances. The outfit was temporarily disabled while Epic worked on a fix.

Finally, on October 30, the last set of Fortnitemares challenges was released, but players were unable to complete them due to a glitch in the final challenge. The issue was resolved later that day.

Epic Games has not provided further detail about the cause of the issues with the 6.21 update or whether there is a common underlying cause for all the recent problems in Fortnite.
