Fortnite Welcomes Back Infinity Blade After a Day of Being Vaulted

Fortnite Players Still Encountering the Vaulted Infinity Blade

Despite being removed from the game by developer Epic Games, the Mythic sword Infinity Blade is still making appearances in Fortnite: Battle Royale matches.

Streamer Quemzi recently witnessed a kill by an Infinity Blade during a late-night match on December 15. This happened more than 36 hours after the blade had been vaulted and removed from the game. A montage posted on Reddit showcases the blade’s presence.

In the video, Quemzi is eliminated by a sniper shot, but he complains about encountering an Infinity Blade. He continues to spectate the match until he finds the player, FaZe CloakTV, wielding the Infinity Blade. The player was attempting to mimic professional player Dennis “Cloak” Lepore, also known as FaZe cLoak.

This copycat player was using the overpowered Infinity Blade with all its destructive abilities and defensive passives, as it was before its removal. However, he is later eliminated by an opponent who retrieves the blade and drops it inside the storm to ensure that it cannot be accessed.

Other players have reported seeing the blade even after it was removed. While Quemzi spotted it on PC, other players encountered it on Xbox One, indicating that this is not limited to a specific console. However, most players have only encountered it once since its removal and not consistently. This suggests it may be an exploit of a glitch or bug since Quemzi was unable to track where the Cloak copycat found the blade while reviewing the match replay.

Quemzi’s replay reveals that it took place on December 15 at 11:51 pm, proving that it occurred over a day after the removal. Although Quemzi locates the copycat player with the blade during the game, he is unable to trace the player’s path to determine when and where they obtained it.

The Infinity Blade was officially removed from Fortnite by Epic Games on December 14 at around 12 pm CT.

Epic Games has acknowledged the issue and stated that they are currently investigating it. Their intention is for the Infinity Blade to remain unavailable in all game modes.
