Fortnite Update Introduces Impulse Grenade, treasure Shrines, and Scoped AR Adjustments

The Newest Fortnite Update Introduces Exciting Changes

The downtime for Fortnite’s latest patch has begun, and players can expect some interesting updates.

As with previous Fortnite updates, a new piece of equipment is being added this week: the Impulse Grenade. This concussive grenade has the ability to knock every player within its area of effect into the air and forward.

In the accompanying video, Epic Games showcases the various uses of the Impulse Grenade, both against opponents and allies. This addition may be part of the developer’s strategy to encourage unconventional tactics like rocket riding.

Aside from the new equipment, the biggest change in this patch is related to the Scoped Assault Rifle. Previously, most players did not favor the Scoped AR due to its limited effectiveness. It was often not worth carrying, especially with the availability of the Crossbow as a long-range option.

The Scoped AR has now been modified to have perfect accuracy with every shot. This improvement should compensate for its previously weak damage, which was the main drawback of the weapon. The headshot damage has been reduced from 250% to 200%, but this is a fair trade-off considering the guaranteed accuracy.

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, Shrines have also been added to the map. These Shrines will contain treasure chests and are expected to be as rewarding and temporary as the Christmas Trees were.

Additionally, the patch introduces some minor changes to other weapons. The Revolver now uses medium ammo, most likely to diversify the types of bullets used by different weapons. The drop rates for the Minigun, Chug Jug, and Crossbow have all been reduced, following the same trend as the three most recent additions.

With the regular SMG being placed in the game’s vault, the Tactical SMG has received a boost. It now holds 35 bullets in a clip, and its fire rate has been increased from 10 to 13.

Currently, the servers are down for the patch to be rolled out, and as usual with Fortnite patches, the exact time for their return remains a mystery.
