Epic Games Announces New Feature Coming to Fortnite: Battle Royale
Epic Games has unveiled the latest feature set to be added to the incredibly popular game Fortnite: Battle Royale.
Fortnite players who logged in tonight were greeted with a new update in the News section, teasing the arrival of Vending Machines in the game in the near future, most likely with this week’s update.
The Vending Machine introduces a trading system where players can exchange materials for items such as weapons or healing items. Although the feature has already appeared a few times due to a glitch, this official announcement confirms its inclusion in the game.
An example shown in the image demonstrates trading 300 wood for a shotgun, which seems like a reasonable trade. It will be interesting to discover the range of items available and how it will impact the game’s balance, although at first glance, it appears to be a minor addition.
Given Epic Games’ regular weekly updates for Fortnite, it is likely that the Vending Machine will be added to the game either on Thursday or shortly after. Typically, when a new item is teased in-game, it is introduced later that same week.
The game has recently introduced a remote control rocket launcher, a heavy shotgun, and an Easter skin for the grenade launcher.
