Fortnite Brings Back the Powerful Drum Gun in Limited Time Mode
The Drum Gun, one of the strongest submachine guns in Fortnite: Battle Royale history, has made its return to the game. It has been added to the Unvaulted Limited Time Mode, where removed weapons and items are featured. This is the first appearance of the Drum Gun since it was vaulted in September 2018.
The Drum Gun was once considered the most powerful weapon in Fortnite, but it was highly criticized for its lack of suitable counters. Despite having similar attributes to the Light Machine Gun, it inflicted quick and accurate damage to players, making it a tough weapon to deal with.
Due to the lack of counters, many players decided to embrace the Drum Gun and use it themselves. Although its presence in the game was short-lived, it received conflicting responses on social media. While some players are excited about its return, others believe it will be overpowered in the Limited Time Mode, just like it was in the core game modes.
For now, the Drum Gun is restricted to the limited time mode, which typically includes powerful items. However, if the weapon were to be reintroduced in the base game, a nerf or a counter would be necessary to satisfy the majority of Fortnite players.
