Fortnite Unearths Audio Files in v8.40 Update Hinting at Exciting Season Eight Events

Fortnite: Battle Royale Data Miners Discover New Audio Files Hinting at Season Eight Events

Data miners in Fortnite: Battle Royale have found audio files indicating the possibility of three different season-ending events for season eight. Although unable to obtain video footage of these events, the discovery has provided some hints about what players can expect in the near future.

New Subfolders Uncovered: Leaky, Sleepy, and Snow

Within Fortnite’s main event folder, data miners have found three new subfolders named Leaky, Sleepy, and Snow. While these names do not reveal much, the audio files extracted from these folders, as shared by HYPEX, offer clues about the upcoming game events.

Leaky: Impact Effects and Powered Structures

The Leaky sound set contains effects that resemble those of the giant purple cube from season six, Kevin. These impacts indicate objects being hit or powered on suddenly, with the final sounds suggesting the activation of a structure emitting energy.

Sleepy: Pickaxe Hits and Hatch Openings

The Sleepy audio set is closely tied to Leaky, as the first part sounds similar to an object collision. The second part resembles the sound of a player’s pickaxe hitting an object, while the third part resembles the opening of a metal hatch, such as the one found at the center of Loot Lake.

Snow: Object Openings and Warping Sounds

The Snow audio set begins with the sound of an object opening. While the middle section is not distinct from the previous files, it becomes interesting around the 1:17 mark, with a sound similar to something being warped. The final part combines the roar of thunder with sounds reminiscent of the cube from season six.

These audio files do not provide enough information to draw definitive conclusions about their meaning or timing. However, they are likely connected to the high-tech facility in the center of Loot Lake. For now, any speculation regarding these events remains purely speculative.

As the end of season eight approaches, Fortnite players can expect to experience these sounds in the game soon.
