Last weekend, the Australian Open hosted Australia’s first major Fortnite event where players competed for a share of $500,000 AUD ($357,000 USD). The event began on Saturday with 500 players battling it out to reach the top 100 finals. International talents Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo and Jon “Fallout” Kefoluokos were present to cast the event, along with Australian personalities Ben “Sandman,” Jordan “Elfishguy” Mays, and Kori “Vandie” Bassi.

X2Twins Steal the Limelight in Australian Fortnite Competition

The oceanic region showcased its Fortnite skills in the event. While fans were expecting a dominating performance from MrFreshAsian, it was actually the X2Twins who stole the show. Jesse Eckley, one-half of the X2Twins, claimed the title of King of Australian Fortnite and walked away with $100,000 AUD. Jesse secured three victories, putting him in first place. One of the intense matches was against MF Vince in game three.

Corvidae Impresses with Multiple Top Ten Placements

Corvidae was the only team with two players in the top ten. Araki secured second place and won $50,000 AUD, while Jynx claimed sixth place and received $25,000. Their performance was remarkable considering they competed against teams like Renegades, who had their entire roster in the event.

MrFreshAsian Dominates Pro-Am Event, Donates to Charity

In the Pro-Am event, MrFreshAsian lived up to the expectations of his fans with an impressive display, securing $50,000 AUD for the charity Water, which works towards ending global water crises. The donation will contribute to providing safe water for millions of families worldwide.
