Fortnite Season 7 Patch Notes Released: Get Ready for Winter, Icebergs, and New Named Locations

Fortnite Season Seven: What to Expect

Epic Games, the developer of Fortnite: Battle Royale, has finally unveiled the details of season seven. After weeks of speculation, leaks, and teasers, players can now anticipate what’s to come in the game.

The biggest change in season seven is the introduction of a mysterious iceberg to the Fortnite island, bringing winter to the game and resulting in several map changes.

Locations

New named locations, Frosty Flights, Polar Peak, and Happy Hamlet, have been added to the game’s new biome, Iceberg. These locations are likely to be situated southwest of the map, where players initially spotted the iceberg. Additionally, several unnamed points of interest have appeared across the map, leading to a minimap update.

Items

Fortnite now features its first flying vehicle, the X-4 Stormwing Plane. This plane accommodates a total of five passengers, including the pilot, and comes equipped with a mounted machine gun. Players will need to beware of this airborne threat if they’ve had difficulties with the Mounted Turret in the past.

Alongside the new vehicle, a mobility item called the Zipline has been introduced, allowing players to zip from one end to the other and explore the game’s new areas and updated named locations.

Several items from season six have been vaulted, meaning they are no longer available in the game. Players will no longer encounter the Double Barrel Shotgun, Chillers, or Shockwave Grenade.
