Since the v7.20 update, players have discovered that walking below the sphere triggers an ice effect on their screens, and attempting to build toward it reveals the silhouette of the Ice King inside. A leaked image suggests that the Ice King will become more visible within the ice sphere, which is surrounded by flame-like shapes that may signify an upcoming event.

Unfortunately, players can do nothing but wait. The sphere cannot be interacted with, as bullets and pickaxe hits miss it and player builds can’t touch it. To endure the long wait, players have turned to the Fortnite subreddit to share humorous interactions they wish their items and characters could have with the ice sphere.
Attempts to Speed Up the Process
A Reddit user named Mark_VDB received praise for placing a Cozy Campfire beneath the floating ice sphere, suggesting that the ice would soon melt and reveal its contents. However, the campfire had no effect, unlike the iceberg that players destroyed in the southwest of the map. Some players are content with waiting even longer.
Protecting the Ice King
Another Reddit user named gladboii took a different approach by surrounding the ice sphere with Chiller traps, hoping to maintain its low temperature. However, this tactic also proved ineffective. As the saying goes, “a King is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.”
