Fortnite: Battle Royale Partners with NFL for In-Game Skins

A big announcement from developer Epic Games has made Fortnite fans even more excited. The popular online game is teaming up with the NFL to bring fans the opportunity to purchase NFL-themed outfits known as skins in the game. Starting on November 9th, players can buy their favorite team’s uniform from the Fortnite Item Shop. All 32 NFL team uniforms will be available, along with an additional uniform unique to Fortnite’s football squad.

To purchase these skins, players will need to use in-game currency called V-Bucks. Skins usually cost between 1,200 and 1,500 V-Bucks, equivalent to around $15. While the exact cost for NFL skins is unknown, it is expected to be in a similar price range as other event-themed outfits in the game.

Players will have the option to customize their uniform by choosing any number from 0 to 99. The uniforms are available for both of Fortnite’s different body types. The NFL skins will also come with football-themed emotes and harvesting tools. In addition, players can purchase gliders and a referee outfit for their characters.

“We see the popularity of Fortnite every day at the NFL as many of our players are passionate about this game,” stated NFL Chief Media and Business Officer Brian Rolapp in a press release. “This partnership represents a great opportunity for millions of NFL fans who are Fortnite players to express their fandom inside the game while at the same time exposing our brand to countless others.”
