Fortnite experiences glitch, prompting Spectator Mode menu to appear

Fortnite Players Discover How Spectating Feature Might Work

Players of Fortnite: Battle Royale have stumbled upon a potential glimpse of how the spectating feature could function in the game.

A player recently shared a video on Reddit, showcasing a glitched Fortnite lobby. In the video, the player was able to access a “Spectate a Match” menu by attempting to switch game modes. The menu, which is not normally visible, was accessed through a command on the bottom right of the window. The options in the menu include “Join Friend Session” and “Join Game Session,” allowing players to choose the type of match they want to watch.

The first option in the menu displays a message stating, “No friends currently playing.” This could be because the player’s friends were offline or because Epic Games has not yet implemented the feature. The second option prompts the user to enter a “game session ID,” which is likely a custom match code that can be shared with others.

Unfortunately, the video does not reveal what happens after joining a match to spectate it, as the user had no friends online or a game session ID.

This glitch has been experienced by other players as well, and some have noted that the Spectate a Match menu disappears after restarting Fortnite. It seems that this menu is nearly complete, suggesting that players may have access to the spectating feature in the upcoming v8.20 update.

However, Epic Games has not confirmed a release date for this feature to the general player base.
