Fortnite enthusiasts uncover comprehensive fall damage details through Playground LTM

Fall Damage in Fortnite: Exploring the Heights

Fortnite’s Playground limited time mode offers players the freedom to explore and experiment within the game. One player, RealSkylitPanda, took the opportunity to investigate fall damage in-game with the help of their friends.

By conducting fall damage experiments, RealSkylitPanda discovered some interesting results. The image above provides a visual representation of the damage inflicted at different heights. For instance, falling from about three walls and part of another wall will result in approximately 11 damage. As the height increases, both the number of walls and damage inflicted also increase. For instance, falling from a height of six walls will cause 99 damage. Beyond that, the damage reached approximately 100 or more.

Remembering these heights can be particularly useful during gameplay. If you find yourself in a situation where you need to descend quickly without a jump pad or bounce pad, falling from around three walls in height should keep you safe from excessive damage.

RealSkylitPanda didn’t stop there. They later shared another image that compared the damage when jumping versus simply walking off an edge. They found that adding more height with a jump also increased the damage inflicted upon landing.

Unfortunately, Playground mode and its experimentation opportunities will be temporarily removed from the game on July 12, coinciding with the start of Season 5. However, Epic Games has expressed interest in potentially making the limited time mode a permanent addition in the future.

Thanks to players like RealSkylitPanda, we’ve gained valuable insights into the mechanics of fall damage in Fortnite.
