Last Night’s Update Adds Detective-Themed Skins to Fortnite
Fortnite’s in-game store received an update last night, introducing a new batch of skins with a detective theme. Among the new offerings are the Sleuth, Noir, and Gumshoe outfits, but it’s the Magnifying Axe harvesting tool that has caught the attention of players.
A Reddit user known as Thias2408 has discovered that the Magnifying Axe allows players to see hidden images on the map, just like a detective. Thias2408 posted an image on Reddit that was taken at Flush Factory, which when viewed with the Magnifying Axe, revealed a man in a hat with the caption “Employee of the Month.”
In addition to the image, there is a date written in Roman numerals underneath it. The translation of the numerals indicates that the date is July 18, 2018, which is in 16 days and takes place after the start of season five.
Speculation Grows as Season Four Comes to an End
Season four of Fortnite is set to end on July 12, leading to rampant speculation about what will happen in the game after the rocket launch. Theories range from time travel to tears in the space-time continuum and the possibility of points of interest being replaced by new ones from the past.
One theory suggests that Flush Factory could be replaced by a new Roman-themed point of interest. While only time will tell if this theory is true, it’s clear that Epic Games is having fun leaving these little clues throughout the map.
